More of the wedding...

My sister just got her pictures back from the photographer. Here are a few more of the bride and groom!

Sisters!!!

The photographer kept telling me how much he loved Matthew's eyes! Here are a couple of cute pictures of Matthew at the luncheon: (Man he's handsome!)

My excuse for not blogging!

So this summer I was not very good about blogging, but I have a really good excuse! Since my sister got engaged, I have been working on her wedding gift! Some of you may not know, but I LOVE to quilt! I haven't taken any classes, but I have taught myself! I started when I got pregnant with Matthew and I just make them for special occasions. Scott got me a cheap sewing machine for my birthday one year and told me that he didn't want to buy an expensive one until I proved that I would use it! I have made 6 quilts and a lot of baby blankets. After this quilt, I asked Scott if I had proved that I would use it and he agreed that I had, so hopefully now I can get a nicer sewing machine!

(Sorry about the picture, it makes the quilt look like it's a weird shape!)
I worked on this during Matthew's naps and after bedtime, so it took me 2 months, but I am really happy with it! Chelsey and Miles hung it up at their reception and they really like it!

Here are some close-ups

This is on the back-side. This quilt was a lot of fun, but I am grateful it is done! (So is Scott!)

Tag Sale

So this morning on our walk, the neighborhood was having a garage sale. I usually don't like garage sales because people are just selling all their junk and it just becomes clutter for your own house, but today I scored!

I love children's books and Matthew loves to just sit and read! I found a bunch of wonderful books for 25 cents each!

We found this little rocking horse for $2!!!! I had one like this when I was little, but it was a little bit bigger! He loves this horse! He rocks and says, "weeee"!

Matthew LOVES Barney, so we scored with this backpack for 50 cents! He's figuring out that he can put his toys in it! (And despite others feelings on Barney, I really don't mind him!)

Ahh...what do I do?

So for those of you that don't know...I LOVE FOOTBALL!!! Yes, me, Jen, I love football! My roommates from college (who were patient enough with me to let me watch sport center at midnight on Monday morning to see how the games on Sunday went) and my husband will testify of this! I have loved football since I was a little girl sitting with dad while he coached football! So this is my favorite time of year...football season! My team for about 5 or 6 years has been the Green Bay Packers! This football season has brought a small turn of events for me I am having a hard time deciding which team to go with! Let me catch those of you that don't know what's been going on with the draft this season....
The Packers had an awesome season last year...almost made it to the Superbowl!!! At the end of last season, Brett Favre (the Packers quarterback) retired. But at the beginning of this season, he decided he wanted to play again! To make a long story short, the Packers already had a new quarterback, so they tried to offer him a lot of money to not play because they didn't want him playing for another team! But he didn't take it and the Jets picked him up! So now what do I do??? Favre has been the Packers quarterback the whole time I have been a Packer fan...do I stay with my team or my quarterback?

Oh and dad, GO COUGARS!!!

This is what life is really all about...

For those of you that didn't know, my little sister Chelsey got married last Friday (08-08-08). It was a whirlwind day, but it was beautiful! As I sat there while they were being sealed for eternity in the Oakland temple, I couldn't help but think that this is what life is really all about...family!!! I thought about the family that my parents began and the little family that Scott and I have started and how the circle just continues...forever! This is what life is really about...you can forget all the material things (as wonderful as those blessings may be)! At the end of the day, the most important thing is your family!
They are such a sweet couple...absolutely perfect for each other! Chelsey looked absolutely beautiful! Chelsey wore my wedding dress, so as mom and I dressed her in the temple...it flooded my mind with memories. It was a very emotional day for me...being the oldest, it makes me very proud to see my sister make this wonderful decision and to see her marry a man that loves her more than life itself! I'm sorry for being so personal (but its my blog, so too bad! :), but I would just like to tell Chelsey that I am so proud of her and that I love her so much! You have such a pure love for everyone around you and I admire you so much! To my new brother, Miles, thank you for being so wonderful to my sister and I know you both will be happy forever! I am so excited to have you in our family...I know Scott and dad are too! :)

To my wonderful parents who began this circle...I love you so much! I am so blessed to have the most amazing parents! Words can't thank you enough for all that you have done for us! You are also awesome grandparents...Matthew adores you both so much! (He would rather have Grammy or Poppe over Scott and I, but that makes me so happy!) Don't they just look so happy together??? They are amazing!!!! I love you both!

To my gorgeous baby sis...you are the sweetest human being that ever walked this planet! I absolutely love and adore you! You make the world a sweeter (and funnier) place! It was so much fun to run around with you on Friday! I am so proud of you!

To the two greatest gifts of my life...Scott and Matthew...I love you both so much! And I appreciate your unconditional love for me! I have the sweetest husband I could have ever asked for...he makes life better than a dream! He's my dream come true! And Matthew makes my life pure joy!!! Being is mother is a cherished blessing! (Man those two are handsome!)

This is what completes my life...my family!!!!
