Yesterday, Matthew woke up with a fever and a bad tummy ache! I was just waiting for the stomach flu symptoms to start, but nothing ever came. About 10am, Matthew was crying in pain from his tummy, so I called the doctor. They couldn't find any open appointments, so we had to go to urgent care. The doctor was concerned that he had appendicitis. Matthew was a trooper...no tears for a blood test and he peed in a cup (thank goodness he's potty trained!) Unfortunately, nothing was confirmed by the tests. I really don't handle this kind of stuff well, but I was definitely given divine strength! I was really strong until the doctor said, "He's not a surgery candidate yet." I just wanted to cry...yet! I just kept thinking, "He's 2!" We had to watch for more severe pain and then rush him to the ER! Scott and I watched him like a hawk last night, but no more pain ever came! I took him to see his pediatrician today and he said that although we are not out of the woods yet, he looks like he's going to be okay! We continue to pray that he will remain feeling good, so that he won't have to have surgery! To me, this is one of the hardest things about being a mom! Yesterday, I just kept thinking, Why can't it be me instead? It breaks my heart to see him hurt and I can't do anything!

He laid around pretty much all day yesterday! But sleep was the best thing for him! Hopefully he is on the mend!
