Robert Michael Lake

Yep...we named our little munchkin...Robert Michael Lake. We named him after my dad. This was actually the name my parents picked as their boy name when my mom was pregnant with me! We have been calling him Michael, but we've talked about calling him Robert too, so I guess we'll see when he's born! (And no...he is in no way being named after Michael Jackson!) We are SO EXCITED to meet him!
My parents treated us to an utlrasound while we were visiting them and it was so awesome! Because I was only 18 weeks, the 3D ultrasound is a little freaky (because our little Michael still looks a little like an alien!), so I'm not going to post those pictures, but we got some great 2D pictures! So far, I think he looks like me, but I guess we'll have to see in 4 months! He was on the move the whole time which made it so fun! It was the most comfortable ultrasound I've ever had...I laid on this pillow-like bed and Scott, Matthew, Mom and Dad sat on couches and we all watched little Michael do a show for us! At one point, he actually waved to us! We got a CD of all our pictures and a DVD of the whole thing! Thanks Mom and Dad...that was so fun! We have another ultrasound next week...I feel so spoiled to see my little guy so much!
I am so in love with my little son already!

Michael actually sucks his thumb on his left hand and Matthew sucks his finger on his left hand! :) (As you can see in the picture above!) But as far as we can see, Michael holds his ear too!

Finally a baby belly!

So at 17 weeks I'm finally looking pregnant (and not just like I ate too much!) Matthew is starting to notice a difference! One night when we were reading stories, he actually tried to move it out of the way...it was so funny! This pregnancy has been a lot harder than Matthew's (Matthew's pregnancy was a breeze!), but it's well worth it! I have been SO weak! I have to eat every 2 hours or I pass out (which actually happened once...very scary!) Heartburn has already begun with this little one, but it's not every day, so that saves me a little! Braxon Hicks started last week which always freaks me out, but it's not really anything I should be worrying about! All in all, I still love being pregnant and feeling my little one squirming is the best feeling in the whole world!
(Sorry the picture is not very good...hard to take by myself!)

I'm so excited to have another boy! I've already got his room planned out in my head and even bought the bumper for his crib a couple days ago! I absolutely love Matthew and I can't wait to have another son! The name is still undecided, but we have lots of choices! I just can't wait to snuggle my little son! :)

Matthew came in when I was trying to take the picture, so we got a picture of him kissing his brother! He gives his brother kisses often...it's so sweet! He's going to be such a sweet big brother!
He's starting to get excited to have a brother! He can't wait to "play baseball with him ALL DAY!" I don't have the heart to tell him that he won't be able to play baseball at first because he's so sweet about it, but I guess I'll have to explain that soon!

Happy 4th of July!

We had such a fun 4th of July together! We went to our ward's 4th of July breakfast that morning and Matthew rode his bike in the bike parade! He was so cute, but all those pictures are on my other camera and I can't find the cord, so those pictures will come later!
After the party, we went to our pool because it was so hot! We all swam for a while...Matty is getting so comfortable in the water! It's so fun to watch him!

After naps, we went down to the lake and had a picnic dinner while we waited for the fireworks to start! It was so fun...I decided we need to have picnics more often!

I tried to get a picture of Matthew in his cute outfit, but he was just too excited to stand still and smile (even when he's not excited I still can't get him to look at me and smile! Oh well!) You can see in the last picture, he's ready to run!

Then we went and got ice cream from the ice cream truck! Matthew's ice cream didn't last for long because it was so hot it turned into a melted mess! But he enjoyed it until we had to throw it out!

While we were waiting for the fireworks to start, Scott and Matthew played baseball (big shocker...Matthew LOVES to play baseball!)

I was telling Scott earlier that day that one of my favorite parts of the 4th of July when I was a little girl was getting those glow up necklaces! Every year my sisters and I would look forward to them and I was hoping they would sell them that night, so I could get one for Matthew! Sure enough, they were! I was so fun to watch him play with it...reliving childhood memories through him! :)

When the fireworks started, Matthew was so excited! He kept saying "Wow!" Although the baby can't hear yet, he'll kick me in the ribs every time I sneeze, so I thought the vibrations would make him flip out, but he was totally calm! It was such a fun night!

Uncle Brent comes to play!

The other night we had Scott's brother Brent over for dinner! Brent came home from his mission a few months ago and we finally had him over for dinner! Matthew totally adores Brent...he was so excited to have Uncle Brent over and was talking about it all morning! Of course, no Lake get together would be complete without video games! I was so proud that Matthew had no idea what they were until Scott showed him that night! :)
