Mom, I wanna play hockey!

So Matthew has a new dream...play hockey! He loves sports! Any sport he can get his hands on, he is all over! And the great thing is, he catches on so quickly! But, I have to say, I was a little nervous about this particular sport, especially at 3 years old! I mean, aren't the hockey players the ones without any teeth?! But, we do not want to hold Matthew back from doing the things he wants to do, especially sports! So, we took the first step and took him ice skating! I thought it would take a while for Matthew to catch on with ice skating, but being my little athlete, this kid just caught on. He's not ice skating around by himself, but he is totally moving his feet without his legs going spread eagle! It was quite a sight to see! On the way home he told us, "I'm so good at ice skating!" We decided we are going to get this little boy into lessons as soon as we get settled (more to come on that comment later!) But here are some pictures from our fun night! It was so much fun...I definitely recommend it for a fun family outing!

I am going to be driving this kid all over to all his practices, but bring it on! I love it!

Michael was not quite as thrilled about this adventure, but he did fall asleep and stay warm in his adorable outfit! :)

We had so much fun...I can't wait to take him again! And Matthew can't wait until he's big enough to play hockey!

Happy 3 months Robert Michael!

Time sure flies by! I can't believe our little man is 3 months old already! (well yesterday) Oh my goodness he is so cute! Since I wasn't so great at updating my blog for the first 3 months, here's a sum up of Michael's little life so far:

-born at a healthy 6lbs. 12 oz.
-lost a pound after he came home, starting eating every 2 hours (exhausting)
-got jaundice
-LOVES to snuggle
-started getting super fussy, although miraculously slept great at night (one grateful mommy!)
-gained 2 and a half pounds in one month!
-didn't slow down eating!
-had his 1st Christmas
-finally started eating every 3 hours!
-first road-trip to visit Aunt Valerie and Uncle Tony
-found out he's allergic to dairy and gluten (boo...very hard for mommy!)
-meets his Poppy (who is named after!)
-slept 6 hours straight at night! (wahoo!)
-didn't loose any of that beautiful hair!
-got 3 colds (poor baby!)
-started smiling when his tummy didn't hurt so much!
-went to Disneyland for the first time
-got his tonsils checked by his big brother "Dr. Matthew"
-starts cooing and talking!
-total Mama's boy!
-discovered his hands
-and on his 3 month birthday....he slept all the way through the night!!!!!!! YEAH! (exciting for mommy and daddy, but actually pretty painful for mommy...anyone who's breastfed a baby can understand my pain!)

Michael is such a sweet fun baby! He has so much patience for his brother who loves him so much (sometimes a little too much!) We are so grateful for him everyday!

A quick flashback...

So my fantastic sister, Chelsey, took these pictures of Michael and I the day he was born. She sent them to me last week and I was just looking through them and had to share a few. It brought tears to my eyes to look at these pictures because it brought back all the feelings I had that day, the smells, and even the touch of my sweet baby. These may not be the most attractive pictures of me (I was exhausted), but I will always treasure these because of the rush of memories they bring back to my mind and heart when I look at them. I couldn't wait to get out of the hospital (mostly because I had been there way too often), but looking at these reminds me of that first day we had together, where it was basically just the two of us (and sometimes Scott) when I got to hold and touch and kiss this baby I had spent so much time bonding with while I lay in bed for all that time! I am so totally in love with my sweet Michael and I am grateful every single day for him and his incredibly strong spirit!

Thank you Chelsey for these pictures and all the others that you took! (I will add more soon!)

Such a sweetheart!

Today when I was putting Michael down for a nap and Matthew wanted to help. Ever since Matthew was a tiny baby, we have rocked and sang to him before he goes to sleep! Matthew asked if he could rock and sing to Michael today. It was so sweet! I was so glad I had my camera there to capture it! He has a sweet little voice and learns songs so quickly! He chose just a few that he knows... (sorry, there are a few videos!)

Cute in summer!

So there were a couple days this week that were so warm...like 80 (I know all those in freezing weather are jealous), but it was ridiculous! I absolutely love cold winter weather, so I was not happy that it was that hot! But Michael got to wear a couple cute outfits that were Matthew's that will be too small for him this summer. They were a little big, but he looked so cute! It was kind of fun to see him in Matthew's old clothes!

I love how Michael is just looking at Matthew! Michael is definately a people watcher!

What a doll! Look at those chubby legs...so cute! Matthew wore this when he was 3 months old too, but he filled it out quite a bit more! :)

Kisses! Michael doesn't look so thrilled! :) He actually tolerates Matthew up in his face really well! It's almost like he likes it!

They are just too cute! Matthew wanted to be silly for a picture!

Matthew loves to "teach" Michael! And he loves to lay with him under this toy! He's the sweetest brother!

Our little baseball all star!

Today was such a beautiful day, we decided to go to the park and play baseball. Here are a couple videos of Matthew hitting and running the bases. We are working on running the bases in the right order! :) In this first video, if you look carefully, you can see his tongue hanging out!

You can't hear him, but he's saying, "Who's the cat? You the cat! Who's the cat? You the cat!" from the movie Madagascar...it was hilarious!

This video cracks me up because he totally starts to run the wrong way, but catches himself!

Ouch!

So we had our first emergency experience today...Matthew slipped by the stairs and split his forehead open on the pole that begins the railing on the stairs. He immediately started crying and 5 seconds later, blood was all over his face! It was so sad! When I cleaned it out, it looked like a hole in his head! It was a pretty wide cut, so we took him to urgent care! Thankfully, they just glued it together instead of stitching it! We were so glad! Thank goodness for modern medicine! He was a trooper! They had to clean it up before they glued it together and I could tell it hurt, but he didn't cry! He's my hero! He had no signs of a concussion (another thing we were grateful for!) We are so proud of you Matthew! I'm sure this will not be the last time that we are gluing our kids back together...especially with 2 boys (and hopefully more!)

(I won't gross you out with a close-up!)

Our ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE boys!

The boys wore these matching sweaters to church today and looked absolutely adorable, so I decided to attempt taking a picture of them and it actually worked! Not only did Matthew smile and look at the camera, but I caught Michael first smile on camera too! It was just too perfect! I couldn't believe it! Oh my gosh...they are so cute I could seriously eat them up! I am the luckiest mommy in the whole world!

Happy 3rd Birthday Matthew!

(of course I couldn't get him to look at me, but he is smiling!)
I love this little guy SO much! I have been thinking a lot today about the day Matthew was born and the last 3 years of his little life! It's amazing how time goes so quickly, yet I can't remember my life without him! Matthew brings the sweetest spirit into our home and we are so grateful for him! He's been through a lot in the last year of his life, yet somehow (even at 2) it has made him a stronger person and he has grown so much! He is the most amazing brother! Scott and I are amazed everyday at how he seems to just know how to take care of little Michael! Matthew has had such a sweet heart and acted with charity towards others, but the way he acts towards Michael is one of the sweetest things I have ever seen! I love watching him grow and learn everyday! He brings unending joy to my life and I could never express how much I love him!
Happy Birthday Matthew...we love you SO MUCH!

(I know it has been awhile since I have updated our pictures. We have been up to a lot of fun things that I will have to post soon!)
