Our sweet baby girl's nursery!

Kaitlyn's nursery is finally ready! And I can't wait to bring her home to it! Just one thing missing....Kaitlyn! I knew I wanted to do a ballet theme, but I couldn't decide if I wanted to do pink or purple, but Scott and Matthew both wanted pink, so we went with pink with teal and gray accents. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out! Scott was an absolute trooper putting up the board and batten! He amazes me with his skills...skills we need to put to more use! :)

Here is the before:

Not too bad, just not very girly!

Here is a during picture (my hot husband at work!):

We got this for FREE on craigslist:

It was exactly what I was looking for! Just needed a little TLC and some girly updates!

Got this on craigslist too:

Also just needed a coat (or 4) of paint.

Okay, so here are the after pictures of our little ballerina's room:

The view from the hallway.

I love this corner! I can't wait to snuggle her in this chair! I made just about everything in this picture (except the furniture). The flower balls were inspiration thanks to my favorite website: Pintrest! They took me FOREVER, but I absolutely love them! I ordered the wood letters unfinished off Etsy and added coordinating fabric, paint and ribbon. The curtains are made from a full fitted bed sheet that I got at Target on clearance for $3. I cut it up and added gathered fabric at the bottom and the cute bows at the top. They were kind of a pain, but totally worth it! I also made the quilt, which was the inspiration for the rest of the room. I have made a quilt for each of my babies and I hope it's something they treasure!

Here is a close up of the letters:

Here is a close up of her crib. I made the ballerina crib skirt...again a pain in the rear, but I love it! I tried finding one online, but they were all like $70. I now understand why...I will never make one again! You can see the updated bookcase and the dresser.

Here is a close up of the dresser! I think it might be my favorite piece in her room! My very talented sister Chelsey, made the sweet ballerina prints.

And last, her closet! I couldn't resist painting it and making it part of her room. I need to finish one more container for the bookcase, but I lost momentum! And I love her sweet and very girly clothes! Matthew and I can't wait to dress her up! I made the hair clip holder too!

We are all ready for you Kaitlyn! 37 weeks tomorrow...hooray! No preemie for us this time! :)

So blessed

Have you ever had one of those days where you look at your life and realize all your dreams and more have come true? Where you feel so abundantly blessed? Today was one of those days for me! Scott was able to work from home and as soon as he got done, he joined the boys outside and they got to work on the yard. We had 2 huge storms last year that we are still recovering from that left hundreds if sticks all over the yard and before we can tackle reseeding, we needed to get the sticks up. Anyway, it was so sweet for me to watch my 3 boys work together! They had so much fun! I am so grateful for all of them! And I loved being able to watch them from my kitchen window while I made dinner! It was a great day!

Outdoor fun!!!

We have had fabulous weather this week! So we have had lots of time to take advantage of our awesome yard! It makes me love our house even more! My parents got the boys a power wheels police car for Christmas and Matthew was so excited to take it for a real spin! Michael was a little nervous, so he painted the driveway with homemade sidewalk paint...loved it! Here's a couple pictures from today:

Maternity Pictures

A few weeks ago, my very talented sister took some maternity portraits for me. I think they turned out perfect and extra special because all of them were taken in Kaitlyn's room that Scott and I did together! You can see little sneak peeks of it before I post pictures of the whole finished product.

These pictures were taken in the rocking chair in Kaitlyn's room. I'm hoping to get some of the 2 of us when she is actually here. Lots and lots of sweet memories with my boys were made in their rocking chair. I can't wait to make memories with her here!

I think these turned out so cool! I especially love the 2 on the bottom with Matthew. So sweet! Matthew loved being in these pictures (Michael not so much!) I love them!

Silly Matty! :) This was his idea totally!

I love the pictures with my boys! They are so adorable! I can't wait to see what Kaitlyn looks like!

And I just love my sweet husband! I'm so glad we were able to get some with him this time!

I can't wait to be a family of 5!!! Couple more weeks sweet Kaitlyn! :)

Cousins and such good buddies!

My sister moved here a month or so ago with her husband and my nephew and it has been so fun to watch Michael and Caiden together! Caiden can't walk quite yet, but man, he tries so hard to keep up with Michael! Michael really loves having him crawl around after him! They are going to be great buddies!

Kaitlyn is so lucky that she will have a girl cousin on each side that is close to her age! Scott's sister is having a baby at the same time and my niece Rilee was born in December. Here's Kaitlyn and Rilee's first picture together! :)

And the ring leader of them all! Yesterday was a warm day, so we were outside and Matthew was making up his own games...just a glimpse into the warm months ahead for us! Yeah!

An update on our growing family!

I know everyone is probably shocked that I'm updating again so quickly, but I need to get better at my blog again! We live so far from family and friends (and I refuse to do facebook), so I'm going to get better at this! Of course I say that right before I have a newborn in the house! :)
So Scott is still loving his "job" at Priceline.com. But does it count as a job if he gets to play on every Apple device! I kinda wish they had to stay at work, but our boys have become fluent in iPad, iPhone and mac laptops. Sad! But he really does work hard and I really appreciate it because I get to stay home with our sweet children who are growing up too fast!
I absolutely LOVE being home with our boys and soon-to-be daughter (so weird to say that!). I have been very busy trying to get as much of our new home decorated as possible before our little Kaitlyn comes. Her adorable room is done and waiting for her! I have painted 6 rooms in our house and is pretty much transformed! I really love it! It's not perfect, but it ours and I love it! We are really hoping to tackle our yard in the spring! We can't wait until it's warm enough to be out there all day! :) I really need to post pictures of our home...maybe that will make people want to come visit! :) I have been forced to take a break from home remodeling since I found out last week that I have started dilating. So to keep my sweet muffin cooking just a little longer, I'm resting as much as possible! Matthew is great about it, but if Michael sees me sit, he immediately wants me to hold him!
Matthew is still our sweet boy! I can't call him little anymore since he's 5!!! What? Where did the time go? He starts full day kindergarten in the fall which I am absolutely dreading! 6 hours a day, 5 days a week! The thought of home schooling as crossed my mind many times! I'm going to miss him so much! The principle told us at kindergarten orientation that we are allowed to cry after they enter the building. Trust me, I will be in the car bawling my eyes out! But I won't let him see me! He is greatly anticipating tee ball in April! I may regret it one day, but I can't wait until my Saturdays are filled with sports...it's a mommy dream of mine! He is quite the all-star and it's so fun to see him grow and progress. He is also brilliant like his daddy! He loves to learn and likes to get out workbooks and "work". He's become quite the budding artist which I didn't see coming! He's very detailed in his drawings and is often sitting at the table working on a new masterpiece. He loves to do crafts and usually comes up with his own! He is so excited to have his little sister! (Understatement of the year!) He loves to go in her room and look at her clothes and has told me multiple times "I just can't wait to dress her up!" I hope Kaitlyn is ready to have her clothes changes multiple times a day! He's an absolute sweetheart!
Michael is a sweet, bundle of energy! He has recently fallen in love with Buzz Lightyear which is a trip down memory lane for me! He's got quite a little imagination and runs around the playroom with Buzz saying "To infinity and beyond" in his own little language! He's a man of few words, but slowly picking up more everyday! We are often shocked by what he knows! One night at family prayer, he ran away (which happens frequently...he thinks it's hilarious!) and Scott started counting and when Scott stopped, Michael kept counting! We had no idea that he knew that, but it was hard to be upset at him after that! He's so funny, that often when we are scolding him, we have to turn a way because we don't want him to see us laughing! We are obviously very effective parents! He loves keys and his brother's shoes! He's pretty oblivious to the whole baby situation, but one day when my nurse came over, he got to listen to the heartbeat and he now thinks that the baby is a "choo-choo". He will be very disappointed! He loves my niece and nephew, so hopefully it won't be too hard of a transition for him! He sure keeps us laughing and we just adore him!
Kaitlyn is by far the most laid back of the 3. She hardly ever moves, which gets us sent in to the doctors office often. I hope she's this laid back when she actually comes out! I can already feel her sweetness and I can't wait until she's here!

Here are a couple pictures that my sister took last week. We quickly did maternity pictures because I was starting to have some hard contractions and got nervous that we might miss it! At this point, if I go into labor, they won't stop it, so we are all ready to go! She (as always) did an amazing job! She does so well with my boys and has the greatest ideas! I will definitely cherish these pictures.

I sure love my sweet husband! I was so happy we got a couple with him this time!

And how sweet is this! Aren't my boys adorable?!?!

So close!

I just realized yesterday if I have Kaitlyn at the same point I had Michael, she will be here in 4 weeks!!! It's amazing to me how time just flies! We absolutely cannot wait to meet her! I can't wait to see the boys with her and see Scott with her! He's already so protective and sweet about her! I can't believe I am going to have a daughter! Her nursery is 99% done! It is absolutely adorable and kind of a dream come true! Scott and I did a lot of it together, but I did all the crafty stuff thanks to my new favorite website: Pintrest!!! It is a ballet theme and it's pink...totally girly! I will post pictures as soon as it's done!
Much to Matthew's constant reminders, we continued our build-a-bear tradition and took the boys to build a bear for Kaitlyn! Michael wasn't quite as into it as Matthew, but it was still so fun!

Picking out the perfect bear...with a little guidance! We didn't think the St. Patrick's Day bear was quite girly enough! :)

Filling it up...Michael was a little nervous about this part, so he stayed in the comfort of daddy's arms!

We all got to put a heart inside the bear for Kaitlyn. Michael was very excited about this part. He even went back and got a handful more of hearts after he put one in! It was pretty funny!

Getting her all clean for baby Kaitlyn! Michael was also nervous about this part, so he went and found something else for baby Kaitlyn (or possibly for himself!)
He did say "Baby" when he was pushing it! :)

And the perfect outfit choice...a ballerina tutu and ballet shoes (chosen by Matthew to match her room). It was pretty funny to watch Scott struggle to put the ballet shoes on! He better get use to this! :)

And the finished product! I wish Michael was in this picture, but Matthew was just SO excited! It turned out so cute! I can't wait to see them give it to her!
We can't wait until you're here Kaitlyn!
